After browsing all the amazing Barbie cakes on this website, I combined many different features into my own creation of a Barbie Doll Birthday Cake. I chose purple as the main colour as it is my daughter’s favorite colour.
I used a real Barbie, then wrapped her in plastic wrap from the waist down to protect her. I used the Pampered Chef 2-quart glass bowl to make the dress and made that part with white cake (full cake mix) and made the stage chocolate and used a large cheesecake pan (full cake mix).
I used a paper towel roll to cut the hole down through both cakes but then used a fresh one to put the Barbie inside. I found this helped to keep her sturdy. Her dress was decorated with Wilton Tip #21 to make the rosettes.
I made all the icing the night before and took it out of the fridge about an hour before decorating the cake. The silver beads are edible candies from the Bulk Barn which gave her a polished look and accented the stage nicely. I would definitely make this cake again!
Hey just saw your Barbie cake and wanted to say well done! She looks fabulous :)
