I used a two liter stainless steel bowl for this Barbie Princess Cake. The rounded bit is Madeira sponge and there are three layers of Victoria sponge underneath it. I used pink buttercream and strawberry jam between the layers.
I cut a whole through each layer with a cookie cutter and the Barbie doll is wrapped in clingfilm so she could be handed over to my niece after cutting. I used regalice that I coloured pink to make her skirt and bodice – I didn’t cut off any excess to create a draping effect and then I decorated with butterflies I made out of florists paste. I also made her necklace and bracelets out of it too. Then to finish off I gave her a bit of a gold sheen with brush on lustre.
I spent ages looking at all the Barbie cakes on here before choosing my design so thank you all for the inspiration for my first Barbie cake!
