Cool Homemade Barbie Cake with Marshmallow Fondant

This was my first Barbie cake. I’m kinda new to the whole cake decorating thing, especially fondant. The dress is made of an easy marshmallow fondant recipe.

1 cup mini marshmallows

1 tablespoon water

microwave for 20 seconds

add 1 1/2 cup confection sugar

knead with a spoon until mixed then knead with hands until all lumps are removed

It was strawberry cake with strawberry icing under the dress and cream cheese icing on the base. The flowers were cut out of marshmallow fondant as well. I used gel to color the fondant (you can color before or after mixing).

The cake was for someone on my job’s birthday. She loved it.
