I made this cake for my daughter’s 3rd birthday.
I made up a standard batch of cake mix (enough for a 2 layer sponge cake) and baked in a dolly varden tin. The tin came with a rod which I placed down the middle of the cake and then put the top half of the doll on top.
I’m not great with a piping bag so I iced the cake with normal butter icing and then cut marshmallows in half and stuck all over the iced cake to make the dress.
I decorated the doll with a butterfly I got from a craft shop which I used as her wings (just stuck on to her back with some double sided tape). I made her necklace using beads slotted on to a piece of florists wire and tied up her hair with a hair band that already had a butterfly on it.
