For my husband’s 30th birthday, we threw a “block party” for him with a Lego theme! I created Lego invitations and we had Lego Block ice cubes for drinks. We used some of his previous Lego creations as centerpieces for the table and even had a Lego block bottle opener for the beer.
We had it out on the patio, or “the block.” The grand finale, of course was his Lego cake that I had slaved over for two days (with breaks for work, of course.)
Using a regular 9×13 inch pan, I created the bottom big, thin block that is often seen as a Lego base. Then using mini loaf pans, I created the single blocks for the tops. The bumps on the legos are sliced mini-cupcakes. Then I created a “Lego Man” representation of my husband (thus the Apple logo on his chest and red goatee.
It wasn’t perfect, but it was a lot of fun to make and see people’s reaction to plus, my husband loved it. It really helped to make his birthday super special!
you are awesome!!
That was an awesome cake. You are very creative!
Keep up the good work.
Great job! How did you create the Lego man? Did you use a loaf pan and cut the pieces? What kind of frosting did you use? I’m thinking of doing something similar, but an Indiana Jones Lego man for my 7 year old’s birthday.
