My son was excited to be having a Barney birthday party, and I needed a cute cake. As always, I use this website for inspiration. I enlarged an image from an online Barney coloring page, and I was ready to start. I just used a boxed cake mix in a 13 x 9, and the frosting is store bought from the tub, tinted to suit my needs.
I iced the whole cake with the light green and put it in the freezer for 20 minutes. I used a toothpick to trace the shape of Barney, and a small star tip to fill in the purple and green. I outlined Barney with black and filled in the white details of his eyes and teeth. A star tip and black outline makes up the #2 in Barney’s hand. I used leftover icing and piped extra stars with “M’s” stuck on them, which are Zachary’s favorite candy.
He really loved his Barney Cake Design and Mommy was happy to make it for him!
