This Tow Mater Cake is my favorite cake that I have made so far. It was for a cousin’s birthday party and they requested a mater cake. I had never attempted to make a 3d cake and figured now was as good as time as any and I was very proud of the results.
I started by going online and finding a carvable cake recipe. It took me a total of three boxes of cake I stacked to 13 x 9 cakes and carved the bottom out. I then made a square cake and cut n half and used that for the windshield. I then covered it with a mixture of fondant and modeling chocolate.
The tow parts were made out of rice crispy treats covered in chocolate. After all pieces were finished I add all the details. I hope you enjoy making this cake as much as i did and this shows anybody can do it if you put your mind to it.
I love your cake and want to do the same cake for my grand son. I just wondered if you could give me a little more detail of how to put this cake together. like the front fenders, rearview mirrors, wheels, etc. If you could please respond as soon as possible. His birthday is Saturday, this week.
