For my daughter’s 2nd birthday I wanted to use two of her favorite things in her cake. Hello Kitty, and duckies. Lucky for me I found the perfect Hello Kitty Ducky Cake!
For the cakes I baked two 10 inch rounds, then leveled, iced and covered them in blue marshmallow fondant.
I then made an easy icing mixture of powdered sugar, a tablespoon of Crisco and a few tablespoons of water. I beat this for a good 5 minutes until it was fluffy, then made the different colors using gel coloring.
After stippling on the Hello Kitty with a clean pin, I traced it and filled in with the icings.
I did a few layers of the yellow and orange to raise it up a bit, and made the beak and feet stand out further than the yellow body and face. I also added a few bubbles against Hello Kitty to make them stand out more.
This is one of the cutest cakes I’ve made, and I have to say it was the simplest as well!
I am 23 and I still love Hello Kitty and rubber ducks. This cake is so adorable! Did you find this picture on-line? It’s just too cute. Awesome work!
