Coolest Mickey Mouse Cake

I got the idea for this Mickey Mouse cake from this website. I used a 14″ round pan and the “wonder pan” X 2 (1 for each ear). I used 2 boxes of cake mix for the round pan and 1/2 box (2 cups) of cake mix for each of Mickey’s ears.

The black icing was the hardest. I added 3 oz. of melted unsweetened chocolate to the buttercream icing. I still needed 1 1/2 containers of black icing to make the black color I wanted. The chocolate buttercream icing tastes great (even with the black food coloring).

For the cupcakes, I just used a coupler to decorate with Mickey silhouettes. It required a lot of time….4 1/2 hours to decorate the cake and cupcakes (that’s in addition to the time to bake the cakes).
