Coolest Homemade Ariel Little Mermaid Cake

My daughter loves Ariel so for her 3rd birthday I made this Homemade Ariel Little Mermaid Cake. I used a 9″ round for the bottom and baked the top in my pampered chef classic batter bowl. I shaved part of the bottom to blend in. I used the cake board to create water to the left and beach to the right. I used a #102 to pipe her fin and used a strip of fruit roll up for her fin – the rock was a blend of brown and black and some cream to try and get a rockish looking color but not exactly brown or exactly grey.

I used teal for her fin and royal blue for the ocean. I had the figurines from when my oldest (who is 10) was little and loved Ariel as well. I added a dolphin to King Triton at the request of my 3 yr old. To compliment the cake we had goldfish crackers and fish toast (I cut using a fish cookie cutter) and Shrimp dip (shrim, ole bay, cream cheese).
