Coolest Spiderman Birthday Cake Idea

This Spiderman Birthday Cake Idea was made for a little boy’s birthday. I baked an 11 x 16 sheet pan. I covered the cake with buttercream icing using blue gel color. The Spiderman mask was one my 3 yr. old had so I placed it on the cake and traced around it with a toothpick.

I used the #18 star tip to fill in, then went back with a small round tip to draw on the web lines. I used the same round tip to draw on the spider web on the cake. The 3D spider was made of gumpaste a few days before to let dry. The legs are floral wire covered with gumpaste and bent to look like spiders legs. I placed the body of the spider on the cake then used the star tip to go back over it to give it that “furry” look.

I placed the wired legs standing up around the body of the spider. This was a big hit with all of the kids.
