This Spongebob cake was a birthday gift for my niece. I wanted to try something a little different. So I sat him up. Everything on him is edible except the wooden dowel rods for support. He was really fun to do.
His body I used 3 loaf pan cakes stacked with 2 dowel rods inserted. The legs and arms are made of laffy taffy rope candy covered in fondant. His sleeves and pant legs are marshmallow moon pies cut in half and covered in fondant. Spongebob’s shoes are little Debbie brownies also covered in fondant.
The famous crabby patty is a bubble gum burger. I took the cheese and tomato off and laid to the side on a napkin. His eyes are bubble gum balls cut in half. Cant forget his nose, is a dowel rod covered in fondant. I airbrushed most of him.
My niece couldn’t believe she could eat everything. She loved it.
