Here it goes, I am a semi procrastinator and I forgot to order my son’s cake so this Spongebob Birthday Cake is what I end up doing the night before his party. First I drew a template on a piece of copy paper. To make sure I knew what I was doing then.
I made this Spongebob Square pants cake out of Betty Crocker whipped icing and a box of 12 colors food coloring. I used yellow for the base, brown for the pants, pink, green for dots black for detail, tan for inside the mouth, tasteless red, and blue for eyes, over my favorite cake mix.
I, Chris Hines made this cake on October 2 2009. I used the detail bags and tips to create the detail. This cake cost $20 dollars to create. I made it for my son Zanes 2nd Birthday. I am not a professional or anything just a 20 something stay at home dad. So you you can do this too.
Good job! The best part of your story is that you are a DAD…good for you! I learned by just jumping in there and doing it too…I am the Grandma, but I made my Grandchildren’s Birthday cakes also. Your next cake will even be better! Good Luck…
That is so sexy! I am so amazed that a stay at home dad did this cake… KUDOS!
I have been making all my kids cakes for years now. It’s true, it is much more inexpensive than buying one. It’s worth seeing the expression on their face for all the love and work that goes into making your own cake. Keep up the good work…this cake shows how much love you have for your son…something to be proud of. Your son has such a cool dad!
