I made this Spongebob Birthday Cake for my 4 year old grandson who is a big Spongebob fan. It is 3 dimensional. I started with a sheet cake covered in blue frosting to look the sea and then added fondant Spongebob flowers.
Spongebob is a box brownie mix I made in a small rectangle pan. I trimmed the sides tapering in towards the bottom. Head, pants, sponge holes are made of frosting. Shirt,tie, eyes, teeth, cheeks, belt, socks,stripes on socks, shoes, are made of fondant. I used black licorice for eyelashes, and yellow licorice for his arms and legs. I used M&M candies for his pupils. I outlined everything in brown frosting (actually chocolate flavor).
