Coolest Spongebob Birthday Cake Idea

I’m a 16 year old girl, and my next door neighbor was turning 5 during the summer. Last year I had made him a race car cake and this year he asked me if I could make him a Spongebob cake! So I Googled a picture of Spongebob and thought this Spongebob Birthday Cake Idea is definitely possible.

I made 1 13×9 chocolate cake and frosted it with buttercream frosting, then I made 1 16×9 yellow cake and also frosted it with buttercream frosting. I stacked the two cakes on top of each other and started to free hand the picture I printed out of Google. After doing that I outlined the lines with black frosting and then started piping the outside on the body (2 cakes) with yellow colored buttercream. Adding little details really made this cake come to life and for the final step I put wooden dowels in for legs and arms and I cooked clay in the shape of hands and shoes, painted the hands and shoes and placed them in the cake.

I rolled out brown fondant to make the shirt cuffs and that was that! When I brought the cake over to his party everyone was in awe, the cake was awesome!
