I made this Thomas the Tank Birthday Cake Design for my nephew Jonah’s 4th birthday. I always make a cake for mine and my sister’s kids every year, so much better than store bought. I made three boxes of store bought white or chocolate cake mix. I use one 9×13, one seven to eight inch round and one 8×8 cake pans. I cut out pieces from the 8×8 inch cake pan and pieced together around the 9×13 cake pan. Then I used the round cake pan for his face.
I made two batches of buttercream frosting. Separate frosting in smaller bowls add your coloring then I place frosting into the disposable bags from “Micheal’s” I have many tips the star and flowers work best for me. If the frosting gets to warm like room temp, just place in frig to stiffing up. I do like to buy the black frosting in the tube at the store for out lining and for the eyes, basically anything “black”, it seems to work the best.
Thanks to Coolestcakes.com I was able to get many great ideas to create and decorate this cake. Thanks everyone.
