We stayed up for hours making this Thomas the Train Cake. My husband did all the fondant, which is the base. The tracks are Kit-Kats. The wheels are Oreos. I baked each cake portion in loaf pans. My husband molded the fondant for the face. Thomas is hauling gummie bears in the last car.
The middle car was supposed to say “Go Vols” on the side but we were exhausted after staying up from 8:30pm (bedtime for our Thomas fan) until 6am to make this. He just informed us today he wants a Percy train next year *sigh*. I will say though that the look on his face was worth every minute. Get yourself a bottle of wine and go for it. We did it all by pulling up a picture online and using loaf pans for the most part.
This is the best Thomas the Train cake I’ve ever seen. Wow. I love the gummy bears.
