I Thought I’d have a go at making a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cake for my sons birthday. I like modelling and painting. Two days in I was about to give up. I have used clay in the past but nothing could prepare me for the flimsy, unworkable, crumbly mess the fondant turned into at first.
After a few more days I got to grips with it. But arms cracking off and icing falling through my fingers meant only one thing at time. Launch it out the window and buy one from a shop. But I stuck with it using evening hours when the boy was in bed. My dad never stuck around and I would love for him to have spent a quarter of the time I’ve spent on this doing something nice for me and my siblings. My sons birthday is tomorrow and I can’t wait to see his face.

If you wanted to make it yourself id say your looking at £60/70 in materials. To pay someone I’m not sure. It’s a lot of work.
