This underwater adventure cake is four layers of blue cake, each darker in color just like the ocean. It is frosted with different shades of blue and white frosting. All the decorations on and around the cake are made of fondant either shaped by hand or with the help of a cookie cutter or Playdough mold.
The boat dock is graham crackers, chocolate covered wafer cookies, and pretzels. The sand on and around the cake is a mixture of raw sugar and gold colored decorating sugar for sparkle. My grandson’s birthday is in October, it is a tradition to have candy pumpkins on his cake. This year he helped me draw the faces on the pumpkins to decorate the boat dock.
As always the kids want to help set-up the cake before the party. Their job was to spread out the sugar sand and add sea shells made from candy melts.
It’s beautiful! Great work! love it!
