This Barbie cake was made for my seven year old niece. My sister-in-law made it for her and it was our first attempt. It turned out so good we had to show it off.
We used the Wilton’s Barbie cake pan. It used about six cups of batter and took almost two hours to bake. To decorate we used pink and white fondant. It was really easy to work with and fun, kind of like Play-Doh.
The sash, purse and whole dress was made of fondant. To do the piping we used butter cream frosting with a bag and a star tip. To decorate the whole cake from start to finish it took about five hours. At the party everyone couldn’t believe it was eatable! It was great fun and the kids loved it!
