I made this Homemade Dog Birthday Cake for my eldest niece Tammy. She had a Yorkshire terrier for her birthday so I wanted to make a sugar model of her pup. I covered the cake in fondant and piped writing. The dog and bed and toys are all hand made from sugar paste (fondant icing).

I baked round cakes and cupcakes to form the dog paws and used buttercream frosting to decorate. I made a leash and a bone out of fondant. I decorated around the paws and leash with green buttercream grass.
