I have made many cakes for my boys. We went through the Spongebob cake along with the Gary the Snail cake. I was able to come up with some great ideas from this sight but when my oldest wanted Mr. Krabs I was stumped. I couldn’t find anything.
I decided to print a picture of Mr. Krabs so I had a model to go by. I made two 9×13 pound cakes. I placed the cakes side by side and outlined Mr. Krabs body on it. I then cut it out and saved the leftover pieces for the eyes, claws and feet. For his arms I used breadsticks. I covered his body with a homemade buttercream frosting. The red on his body didn’t get as dark as I would have liked but nobody seemed to notice. I melted some chocolate candy and created his eyelashes. Once they hardened I put them in there place. I also outlined his body in the melted chocolate.
For his belt, eyes and mouth I used an icing pen. For his nose I cut it from the side (edge) of the pound cake. This way it was thin enough to fit on his face an it was the perfect look.
The cake is quite large, over 2 feet long. It was a lot of fun to make and my son was so excited with the outcome.
Good luck and I hope this helps with your Mr. Krabs cake.
