This Ladybug Birthday Cake is a 1st birthday cake. This one gave me a lot of trouble. The face melted(hence the flower lei), grass fell off, the bottom cake came out of the pan in two pieces. Took 3 days to make. Let’s just say that I am happy to be finished with this one!

For the body of the lady bug cake I used a pudding basin and for the head a small pudding basin. The hardest part was getting the colour as I used butter icing which made the red a bit orange, and it took a lot of black coloring to get the black black!
