This was the duckling cake that I made for the kids of my apartment. Exams were over and they wanted to celebrate. Completed the entire thing in flat 3 hours. The kids loved it. It was an emergency order and all that I could think of was to make the cake simple and sweet ….something which the children would love and remember.
It was chocolate sponge cake with whipped cream filling and frosting. It had hand made edible fondant ducklings and flowers. It was huge fun to make the cake. The children quarreled as to who will eat the ducklings. Would have loved a little more on the cake though, but the result was extremely satisfying. It was a huge hit with the kids and every time they see me now they say, “aunty, we loved your cake”! Got a lot of praise from my own kids…who keep saying that they want a repeat of the cake on their birthdays.
