I made this 18 Wheeler Transformers Birthday Cake for my son’s 8th birthday, Nov 2008. I made two cakes, not sure that I could pull the first one off.
The cake is made using two loaf pan. Cut the first cake down the middle leaving a thin layer for the 5th wheel(behind the cab area). Take the slab you cut from there and stand it up for the sleeper. Cut less than half from the other loaf and make that the cab ( cut it at an angle to make it look more like the wind shield in the front).
The wheels are made from chocolate donuts. I used the colors from the movie Transformer as my son is a big fan. The whole cake is edible except for the smoke stacks They are sucker sticks from the craft store.
I have made many other cakes from the Coolest cake site and I MUST say I love this site.
Would you be interested in making another one of these for me? I will gladly pay you if you might consider it.
Depends on where you are from due to the shipping of the cake my email adresss is mycakebox on myspace ………there you can see a lot more cakes I’ve created. Feel free to contact me there
What size was the loaf pan that you used? About how pieces of cake did you get out of it?
I also would like to know what size loaf tin and what size did it end up being. As I need it for about 40 people. Thank you
The Loaf pan is just a simple size loaf pan you might make a meatloaf or loaf of bead it is half the size of a loaf of bread you buy from the store. Each loaf pan took 1 1/2 cake mixes each, I like to have the cake rise up a lot higher than the cake cake , its easier for me to level that way. Sorry I missed the lady wanting me to make this cake for her. I would of loved to make another.
what did you use for the exhaust stacks?
