I made this 3rd Birthday Princess Castle Cake for my granddaughter’s 3rd birthday. I got my idea from looking online at a lot of other castles cakes and came up with this idea.
For the main part of the castle, I made 2, 12×15 cakes and 2, 7inch rounds cakes. I covered these with purple frosting then piped white frosting for the “brick” look. The top of the towers are made of sugar cones dipped in white chocolate and rolled in purple sugar and the bottom of the towers are stacked cake cones.
These I frosted in light pink and then darker pink for the brick look. The doors and windows are colored fondant. I piped green for the borders of the doors, windows and castle and just piped little dots of colored frosting to look like flowers. The turrets are made of melted pink chocolate and put into molds. For the finishing touch I put all of her favorite princesses on the cake.
The cake took me 8 hours to decorate but seeing the look on her face made it worth every second. My grandson’s 8th birthday is in a few months so I will be looking on this site for idea for his cake.
love the bricks. what a beautiful detail!
