After being inundated with requests for 50 shades cakes I came up with this. For the bed I made a 10″square sponge cake which I cut to shape then covered it with lemon butter cream. This was made using a basic butter cream with the addition of lemon curd to give it a creamy consistency which makes it easier to spread. The off cut was used for the pillows.
I then colored some fondant red and used it to cover the bed. The bed post’s were made from biscuits covered in fondant, tricky but it works. Then came the hard part, …..making the man as I have never made a figure. I found it a little tricky. I used fondant which I again colored myself, made the different parts and used edible glue and raw spaghetti to stick him together. The tie ,whip and handcuffs I made from fondant. The cake went down well and I had great fun making it.
