Coolest 60th Motor Bike Cake

I have been making cakes since I was a teenager and have got better over the years and now get asked by family and friends to make them cakes. It’s a hobby and I do enjoy it. I was asked by an auntie to make her husband, who is mad about bikes, a 60th Birthday cake and to put him on the top too.

Well, this 60th Motor Bike Cake gave me a run for my money. I tried to make the bike a few days in advance to the cake, but it wasn’t that easy. On my third try I got it to stand up OK. I made a wire model and then covered it in white icing and then painted it when it was dry with powder and a drop of gin to mix. I made two tier sponge and put grass around the sides, made by putting fondant in a garlic press, also small flowers for detail. I put 60 candles all around base and made a OAP over the hill road sign.

Auntie and friends had a laugh was very pleased as it did look like her husband.
