I baked this Homemade Airplane Birthday Cake for my husband’s 26th birthday. I followed his wish and sculpted a vanilla cake with vanilla cream and vanilla fondant in the shape of a F22 Raptor.
I baked two pieces of cake dough in a large pan (aprox. 30/30 cm). Then I cut them in a shape printed out on a simple piece of paper. I also cut small pieces for the details (as seen in the picture).
I covered it in marshmallow fondant colored with blue and black. I also added some sugar-paste crayon doodles to make it more fun! The flavors were vanilla and pineapple: I used vanilla cream and pineapple juice.
I hope you like it and don’t hesitate to ask questions if you want to do one yourself!
Great cake! I had a friend ask me a few days ago if I could do a military cake for her sons birthday in April. Her husband is a pilot and the son loves planes. I have been searching for a good cake to do but am coming up empty handed until I saw yours. Would you be willing to share the directions for your cake?
Thank you.
I just saw your comment. I would be happy to tell you how I made this cake. If it’s not too late, let me know.
