My son turned four recently and he wanted an Angry Birds birthday cake for his birthday party. So I made him one! The cake size is 14 by 14 inches, after icing was 15 by 15 inches. It was a chocolate genache cake fat free, recipe from Wayne Gislen professional baking, with dark chocolate ganache filling in 3 layers.
The angry bird was my first ever frozen butter cream transfer, while the background was non dairy whipped cream tinted with Americolor gel paste in yellow for the sun, sky blue for 2 shades of sky, piped with a star nozzle, while the grass was tinted in green piped with basket weave nozzle.
The alphabets were dark chocolate molded like chocolate! The cake and whipped topping icing was done last minute but the frozen butter cream transfer was done one week,in advance! I used half butter and half shortening for the butter cream.
