I made this Angry Birds Star Wars cake for twin boys for their 5th Birthday. It started off going to be a straight forward Angry Bird cake which I was familiar with but then they changed their minds to Angry Birds Star Wars cake. I had never even seen Star Wars let alone heard of Angry Birds Star Wars, so a little research online and this is what I came up with!
I loved making the little characters out of gum paste. Again making the candles part of the cake by putting them in to the stars. I made the base fondants for the cakes out of marshmallow fondant and I think by covering the board underneath in fondant too, it ties the whole cake together telling the story. I think maybe the planets are a bit bare and maybe next time I would try do them a bit differently, a little more detail like add craters or rocks.
