This is an Appaloosa horse cake made for my granddaughter’s 3rd birthday. She requested Horseland, but I thought the Horseland characters and horses weren’t as cute as this. Her mom did buy the Horseland pics to add to the cake.
The horse’s body was made using the Wilton 3D Rubber Duck pan. I cut off some of the ducky tail, and added a muzzle full of frosting. The buttercream frosting was all piped with a star tip, except that the mane and tail were piped using a hole tip. The ears were fondant held onto the cake with toothpicks.
The purple halter and bow on tail were also piped with a star tip. I used the grass tip for the ground. The horse’s eyes were Junior Mint candies.
I used Wilton’s candy melts to make lollipops to put all around the cake.
The horse sits on 2 tiers of cake, simply because of the number of guests it had to serve.
This is my favorite cake ever! I hope my mom will make one like this for my birthday!
I love Appaloosa Horses.
