This Homemade Baby Einstein Caterpillar Cake is the Baby Einstein Caterpillar cake my mum and I made for my son’s Tyler 1st Birthday.
Together we made four 8inch round cakes, two chocolate flavoured and two butter creamed flavoured. We used a sports ball pan for the head and 10 cupcakes again different flavoured for the feet and one smaller cupcake for the tail.
We used icing sugar, butter, milk and food colouring for the different coloured icing on the cakes. Raspberry licorice sticks for the ears, black jelly beans for the nose and black and red writing icing for the mouth. The grass was made out of coconut and green food colouring and icing to make it stick to the board.
Everyone including the birthday boy loved the cake everyone was so amazed we made the cake ourselves.
I got the idea of the Einstein caterpillar from seeing the other baby Einstein caterpillar cakes and glad I went with this theme, it really turned out well and my son had cake all over him which was great to see.
