Cute Homemade Baby Shower Cake with Cow Print Blanket

This Baby Shower Cake Design was made for a baby shower. The invitations had baby cowboys on them so I decided to make the blanket in a cow print. The cake is a double layer 12″ round. The baby rump is a 6″ Pyrex bowl, and the feet and legs are made of rice krispy treats then covered in flesh colored fondant. The toes are made of balls of flesh colored fondant. I made the blanket by rolling out a sheet of white fondant, then placing abstract designs of black fondant on top of it. I rolled it out with a rolling pin to meld the blanket together.

I iced the cake with buttercream then used a paper towel to smooth it. The baby diaper is also buttercream, then I pressed a napkin into it to create a pattern. I used a pattern press on the sides of the cake and piped them with the number 3 tip. I added dots of dark red on the blanket using tip 2.

Loved this cake, it was fun to make, and fun to look at.
