I made this Baby Shower Mommy Silouette Cake for one of my dearest friend’s baby shower. She was having a boy and is a fashionable gal, so I didn’t want anything too cutesy. I am just starting to decorate cakes and am trying to get better every time.
The cakes were simple chocolate (9×13) and white (10in round) cut and filled with seedless raspberry jam. This made the cakes so moist (and it was so simple!) The frosting is Wilton buttercream. The polka dots are colored buttercream.
The main image I found online while searching pregnant belly clip art. It was the image used on her shower invite which is simple, but cute too! I drew it on the cake with brown gel and filled in with buttercream stars. The heart is a candy heart (thank goodness it was near Valentine’s Day)
Everyone thought I did a great job. I am just starting to decorate cakes for friends!
Do not put confetti on the cake board as those of us who threw the shower found out that when you serve a slice, you get them all over the pieces of cake.
