This birthday cake was designed for my daughter who had a love of ballet at the time. We had a large crowd, so I needed 2 cakes to feed everyone. I simply made two 9×13 cakes and cut out a freehand slipper shape onto wax paper. I set the wax paper over the cake and cut them with a serrated knife into the shape of the slippers.
First I frosted the “holes” of the shoes white and then finished with the remainder of the shoe in pink frosting. Finally I piped hot pink around the base and holes of the shoes. For a finishing touch, I sprinkled pink glitter sprinkles and topped the shoes with pink satin ribbon ties. The girls were ecstatic with the homemade ballet slippers birthday cake!
So cute! My daughter is excited for this for her upcoming birthday! Can I ask what did you put the cake on?
how many people did you have? We have like 25-30.
