This balloon cake was for my son’s 2nd birthday party. It is the first cake I ever decorated myself, except for the numerous practice cakes leading up to it.
I put two 6″ rounds on top of an iced sheet cake and used the star tip to cover them. I used real ribbon for the strings. The big star decorations on the sides are Wilton’s “sprinkles”, and the small stars on top are from a Kid Cuisine meal (they come in the meals with the pudding).
This cake was super easy to make, and everyone loved it. Using confetti cake mix really adds to this cake too, once you cut into it.
can you send me the directions? how many boxes of cake mix did you use for the flat cake?
wow the balloon cake is fabulous! I love how you made the balloons like the sun was reflecting on them! ( sorry, my English is very bad, I am not from here.)
I was wondering what size flat sheet cake pan you used? it seems to be larger than the regular ones… thanks
