This Barbie Doll Princess Cake was my first time making this kind of cake. It was VERY easy! I got the idea from this site. I used 3 different size glass bowls (that could go in the oven and that would stack to make a dress so I didn’t have to cut anything!) sprayed with no-stick spray.
I used 2 cake mixes from the store made according to the box (my daughter’s favorite funfetti cake was used for mine) then I bought 2 large tubs of frosting after baking (and you have to let the tall bowls bake a little longer). Let cool completely.
I put just a little frosting between the layers. Then I used a butter knife and spoon I cut out a spot for Barbie (I took her legs off and wrapped her bottom with plastic wrap). After she was in I started putting the frosting on using a star tip, just went around and around to get the pink color, good old fashion food coloring (remember to count your drops so you can match the color if you have to make more frosting!) and that’s it.
It took me a few hours because I have a one year old to run after but it was VERY easy. If you are thinking of doing this kind of cake, you can, it was great and my daughter’s all love it, it’s for my daughters 7th birthday party.
