This beer cooler cake was a fun cake to make. I needed to take something to a party and I thought this was a cool idea.
I made 3 – 8″ cakes, layered and iced them. I made the sides out of fondant and sprayed it to look like an old ice cooler. I added clear rock candy cubes for the ice. I then made 3 – 4″ cakes and iced them to look like a beer mug. I made the pretzels out of fondant.
I used contact paper to cover the board to make it look like a tablecloth. I then added 2 bottles of beer in the buckets and one on the side adding some ice (candy) on the table as if it was falling from the bucket.
This cake was a huge hit at the party! Everyone was so amazed at how real the ice looked. It was my first time trying the ice bucket but it came out pretty good.
