This Belle Princess cake was made in two pieces, the base being a 9×13 cake and Belle’s dress being made using the large Pampered Chef glass mixing bowl. I used two Duncan Hines marble cake mixes and converted them to pound cakes by adding additional ingredients.
Belle’s dress, along with the base of the cake and the roses were decorated using the #22 Wilton star tip. I used the Wilton bismarck tip #230 for the leaves of the flowers (just give a pull and it gives a nice pointed end that looks like a leaf).
The grass was smoothed on with a decorating knife. The additional “Beauty and the Beast” characters and the horse were ones that came with the doll. The horses saddle is also made out of icing. To cover a few flaws we created the dress to look like train with roses trailing behind (of course there were very few flaws).
For some added sparkle I sprinkled the cake with yellow and pink decorating sugar – clear could also be used. I am sure this will be a hit with all the girls!
