My son wanted a Big foot Monster Truck cake for his 6th birthday so I looked at some other pictures from this site and this is what I came up with.
I baked a cake in a 11 X 15 Wilton pan (uses 2 boxes of cake mix), but If you are looking for a smaller cake, you could us a 9 x 13. Once the cake cooled, I placed in the freezer until I was ready to decorate. This also makes for easier cutting and shaping. I cut the cake in to 3 equal pieces, stacking 2 on top of each other to create the truck body. I then cut the last piece to form the cab of the truck.
I then placed Chocolate covered donuts in place for the wheels and carved out a small area between the wheels to give the truck the “jacked up” affect. I also carved a small amount of the cake under the front and back to give the same affect. This whole area was iced in gray icing and the rest of the cake was iced in Blue.
Black licorice was used for the roll bars and gum drops for the lights. The truck lettering and designs were then piped on the cake.
Ingenious!!!
