My daughter is at that dress up age at 6, so I decided to do a “Tea Pot Party”. The girls sat and had a formal tea party with real cups and saucers I purchased at a thrift store, they dressed up and put on makeup for the occasion.
The homemade birthday tea pot cake was quite simple to make, I battled a bit with the sugar paste but nothing that a few kebab sticks and toothpicks couldn’t fix on the day…. hehehe. The flowers were bought from a cake shop so saved some time there and once my handle and spout were done and the cakes baked, I did the rest in half an hour before the guests arrived.
The look on my daughter’s little face lit up with such a big smile, made me wanna become an even better baker, she made me feel so proud!!!
The girls had a blast, I incorporated games such as musical chairs, pass the parcel and colouring competition which I printed tea pots off the net for. The gifts they got for winning were clips and ponies and scarves which I got at a bargain for as well.
Unbelievable, I just love this cake. It looks sophisticated yet fun. We’ll done!!!!
