This homemade Blues Clues birthday cake was for my son’s 3rd birthday. I started with two ten-inch round white cakes (I mixed blue sprinkles in but they melted so I ended up with a blue cake!), stacked and covered with homemade marbled fondant. To marble the fondant, I just took a glob of darker royal blue and a glob of white and mixed them together until they looked “marbled”. I rolled it out and put it on the cake.
I made the figures out of different colors of fondant with buttercream piping features and added a fondant paw-print to the top. Working with the fondant is just like modeling things out of clay, so it was more fun than work! My son absolutely loved it and so did all our guests!
