These two cakes were made for my daughter’s 2nd birthday which was Bollywood themed. The pink elephant cake was a solid chocolate biscuit cake and we dyed the icing and hand cut the elephant shape.
The golden elephant cake was a strong Madeira sponge (to take the weight of the icing). It was iced with roll-out icing and then sprayed with edible golden metallic spray. The detail of the rug and head-dress were added with colored sugar balls and edible glitter. The log that the elephant is carrying is a chocolate flake!
The feet don’t have such a good finish because I mislaid my green edible glitter which was to cover a row of whipped cream to give a grass effect!
Two really pretty and age appropriate themed cakes. I will upload another Bollywood cake I did for my cousin’s birthday at a later date – it was the silhouette of the Taj Mahal with “Happy Birthday” and “13” written in the Hindi script.
