This Boo cake was for my son’s 9th birthday. He had asked for a Halloween-ish cake, but I also knew his favorite avatar for his Mario games is “Boo,” so I decided on this character. This was also a Vegan cake (no animal products used).
I used a 13″ round for the body and sculpted the arms and tongue using a 9″ round cake. I attached the arms and tongue with lollipop sticks and, after rolling the fondant icing out, I just laid it on top and molded it to the shape. I drew the face free-hand and then used black fondant icing for the eyebrows and eyes. I then painted the mouth and tongue, using red and black gel icing.
I love the smooth look of the fondant. Great job!!
