When making this Boxer dog cake for a little girl that loves dogs, it was a joy to see her face upon arrival. I made a chocolate sheet cake double layer, on top was the dog which I made a 8x9x2 rectangle cake, froze both and carved the dog out of the smaller cake.
Icing: was made homemade with pink and brown tint (Wilton-gel). I didn’t want the head to be perfect so I tilted slightly, so it would have more expression. The butter cream seems to work the best on this cake, and the transfer wasn’t too bad. The weather had a big part in the transfer, because it was very cold outside and the icing held up well. I used small dowel rods to support the head and dog upon the cake.
There were about 20 children and 10 adults at the party. It was themed puppy party, which seemed appropriate for the cake I made. The decorations were pink and white and playing pin the tail on the dog was the game of the day with prizes and balloons galore.
This cake is AWESOME. The creater is extremely talented in many areas. I have boxers and they are a wonder dog breed. You do the boxer justice. Just amazing!
