This Bumble Bee cake was made for my granddaughter Addy’s 1st birthday. I made a classic 13×9 sheet cake, then cut out 4 pieces to shape the head, wings and tapered body. I then used some of those pieces to shape the wings and the stinger. The wings were iced with white icing and a blue bakery marker. The head, body and stinger were iced with yellow and chocolate icing with a bakers bag and star shaped tip.
The eyes were brown m&m’s, the nose a red m&m and the antenna’s were chocolate Twizzlers with a dollop of chocolate icing on the tips. The cake was a big hit, Addy showed a great big beautiful smile when she seen it and when she ate some. Everyone else at the party seemed to enjoy it as well. It took about an hour to make the cake and about an hour and a half to decorate it. The time was worth the effort for such great results.
