I used 2 heart shaped pans and 1 9″ square pan to construct this Butterfly Birthday cake. I cut off the points of the heart shaped cakes and then made the body with the square pan and used the left overs from the square pan to put as the bottom of the body. You can see from the one photo how I constructed the cake before icing.
The icing was pretty easy, did the body in purple and the wings in pink and then added the yellow on the wings free handed. Then of course since this was for a little one, I added candies around the edging. Really simple trick if you are not good with the icing bags like me and lastly I used pipe cleaners for the antenna.
