I am just beginning to make cakes for fun. I searched the net for ideas and came across this GREAT web-site and got a lot of ideas and put some of them together for my Candlyland Cake. The most stress came from learning how to put together a gingerbread house to put on top of the cake.
I used a pt. size Yahoo milk carton for my frame and “glued” it together with Royal icing. I used graham crackers. This needs to be made in advance. From that point it was fun, really liked “Gloppy” using Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and chocolate icing. I used starburst for the road (it was hard finding blue, but I finally found it at CVS, they are sour).
I will definitely use this web-site again. My next birthday cake will be for my daughter who will be 30.
