Coolest Care Bears Birthday Cake

I made this Care Bears Birthday cake for my daughter’s 3rd birthday. She had 2 requests, it had to be Love-a-Lot Bear (because it is pink, her favorite color) and it had to have sparkles on it!

I used the Wilton Care Bear Cake pan and used the guidelines that came with the pan (which can also be found on their website). I also used the Wilton butter cream icing recipe that my mom has used for years (it is in their recipe books)! I went on the internet to the Wilton Website to download the pattern for the hearts on Love-a-Lot’s belly.

I used colored sugar for the pink and red hearts on her belly, using the patterns that I cut out. (I sprinkled the sugar on before outlining the hearts). For Love-a-Lot’s nose and the heart on her bottom, I used candy hearts for decorating cakes (I think they were also made by Wilton, but I cannot remember for sure).

After decorating the whole cake, I used Wilton’s edible glitter (basically clear sparklely sugar) and sprinkled it all over the cake. My daughter loved that it had sparkles all over it! It was also pretty simple to make using all on the helpful hints that Wilton gives.
